Tim Hortons Original Iced Capp
The Tim Hortons Iced Capp is the drink that built the cold menu in Canada: coffee blended frozen with cream, thick enough to drink like a slush. The Original is the plain build the whole family grew from, on the board since 1999.
This post covers the Original on its own: what each size costs, the official calories and nutrition size by size, the caffeine, and how it stacks up against the Mocha and Vanilla builds. A Medium runs $3.79 to $4.49 and carries 330 calories on the official guide. Prices are ranges, because Tim Hortons does not set one national price.

Price, calories and caffeine by size
The ranges below were checked for this site in October 2026, and the same cup can cost a little more in one city than in another.
| Size | Price | Calories | Caffeine |
|---|---|---|---|
| Small | $3.29 to $3.99 | 260 | 90 mg |
| Medium | $3.79 to $4.49 | 330 | 120 mg |
| Large | $4.29 to $4.99 | 430 | 150 mg |
One swap is worth knowing at the counter. The standard cup is blended with cream; ask for milk or chocolate milk instead and the calories drop while the price stays put, the same trick the Light build uses at any size.
Nutrition by size
Every figure here comes from the official Tim Hortons Nutrition Guide, Canadian Edition, July 2026, the same source behind the Nutrition Facts page.
| Nutrient | Small | Medium | Large |
|---|---|---|---|
| Calories | 260 | 330 | 430 |
| Total fat (g) | 11 | 16 | 22 |
| Saturated fat (g) | 7 | 10 | 14 |
| Trans fat (g) | 0.4 | 0.5 | 0.5 |
| Cholesterol (mg) | 30 | 45 | 60 |
| Sodium (mg) | 75 | 105 | 140 |
| Carbs (g) | 38 | 45 | 59 |
| Fibre (g) | 0 | 0 | 1 |
| Sugar (g) | 36 | 42 | 56 |
| Protein (g) | 2 | 3 | 4 |
Sugar climbs as the cup grows: 36 grams in a Small, 42 in a Medium and 56 in a Large. Even so, the Original sits at the light end of its own family. A Medium Mocha carries 72 grams of sugar and a Medium Vanilla 76, against 42 here.
Allergens
In the official allergen guide, the Original carries Milk as a Contains mark, because the standard build is blended with cream. Wheat & Gluten and Tree Nuts carry May Contain marks instead: the drink is made where those allergens are present, not built from them. Anyone ordering around an allergy can check every build on the Allergens page before they go.
How it compares
The Original is the cheapest and lightest build in the family. The two flavoured builds with full rows in the official guide run heavier at the same Medium size:
| Build (Medium) | Price | Calories |
|---|---|---|
| Mocha Iced Capp | $4.49 to $4.79 | 530 |
| Vanilla Iced Capp | $4.49 to $4.79 | 540 |
The Mocha is the chocolate build, 200 calories over the Original, and the Vanilla the sweetest of the three at 76 grams of sugar. Both sit with the rest of the family on the Iced Capp page. The Light build goes the other way: same price, and a Medium drops to 210 calories with 2% milk in place of the cream.
FAQs
The figures Tim Hortons publishes are 90 mg in a Small, 120 mg in a Medium and 150 mg in a Large, the same for every build in the family, plain or flavoured. That is less than a brewed coffee of the same size at every step: a Medium Original Blend carries 205 mg.
No. The caffeine comes from the coffee; syrup adds flavour, sugar and calories only. A Medium Vanilla runs 540 calories against 330 for the Original, on the same 120 mg of caffeine.
No decaf build is listed. The guide prints five builds, Original, Light, Mocha, Vanilla and Caramel Toffee, and every one is made with coffee. For a cold cup with no coffee at all, look at the Quencher family on the Cold Drinks page.
It can. Caffeine is a stimulant, and Health Canada lists insomnia among the effects of too much of it. A Large holds 150 mg, so keep the Iced Capp to the morning or early afternoon if late caffeine keeps you up.
Health Canada sets the limit in pregnancy at 300 mg of caffeine a day. A Large holds 150 mg, half that limit, and a Small holds 90 mg. Tea, cola and chocolate count toward the same 300 mg.
Size is the lever that works. With no decaf build and one published figure per size, a Small at 90 mg is the low caffeine order. The Light build’s milk swap cuts calories only, not caffeine.
