Tim Hortons Gluten Free Options in Canada

Ordering Tim Hortons gluten free in Canada starts with one honest fact: nothing on the menu is certified gluten-free. Tim Hortons kitchens handle wheat in the same space all day, so cross-contact is always possible, even for items whose recipe has no wheat in it. What this page gives you is the accurate starting point. It lists every menu item that carries no wheat or gluten mark in the official Tim Hortons Allergen Guide, Canadian Edition, July 2026, with calories from the official nutrition guide, and it names the popular items that do carry a mark, so you are not caught out by a wrong guess.

Tim Hortons gluten free

Tim Hortons gluten free options at a glance

The official guide lists 225 items. Of those, 142 contain wheat or gluten, 16 may contain it, and 67 carry no mark in the Wheat & Gluten column at all. Here is where those 67 sit:

  • Hot drinks: 17 of 17 items carry no mark
  • Cold drinks: 15 of 30 items carry no mark, and the other 15 all carry a may contain mark
  • Breakfast: 7 of 40 items carry no mark
  • Soups and chili: 4 of 8 items carry no mark
  • Sauces: 9 of 9 carry no mark
  • Bagel toppings: 7 carry no mark, but every bagel itself contains wheat
  • Beverage additions: 8 of 8 carry no mark
  • Donuts and Timbits: 0 of 51 carry no mark. Every single one contains wheat

Read this first: no mark is not a guarantee

The official guide states that normal operations involve shared equipment (oven, beverage machines, toaster, panini press), shared cooking and preparation areas and shared utensils, so your food can come in contact with other food, including other allergens. A clean row in this chart is not a promise.

Two marks exist in the guide. Contains means the allergen is part of the standard recipe. May Contain means the allergen is not a direct ingredient, but the item is produced in a facility or on equipment where the allergen is present. In plain terms: not in the recipe, but in the building. This page counts a may contain mark the same as a contains mark. An item only appears in the lists below when it has neither.

If you have celiac disease or a serious wheat allergy, treat this page as a first filter, not a clearance. Check the item in the official guide yourself, tell the staff about your allergy before you order, and judge the risk for yourself. Our Allergens page explains the full guide and lets you filter all 225 items by any allergen.

The plain brewed coffees and the two teas carry no mark in any allergen column at all. The milk drinks carry a milk contains mark, and the lattes, cappuccino and tea lattes also carry a tree nut may contain mark, so check the other columns if wheat is not your only concern. Drink by drink detail sits on our Hot Drinks page.

Cold drinks with no wheat or gluten mark

Cold drinks are where the guide splits. Fifteen of the 30 cold drink rows carry no wheat or gluten mark. The guide lists each Quencher flavour twice, once as a Sparkling Quencher and once as a Lemonade Quencher, and both versions carry no mark, so the 15 rows below cover 11 different drinks.

Read the warning section below before you order anything frozen or blended. The frozen versions of these same Quencher flavours carry a wheat may contain mark, and every Iced Capp and iced latte does too. The full cold range is on our Cold Drinks page.

Breakfast items with no wheat or gluten mark

Breakfast is the hardest meal on this page. Only 7 of the 40 breakfast items in the guide carry no wheat or gluten mark: the three egg-based Loaded Boxes, the three Omelette Bites, and the Hash Brown. Every breakfast sandwich, wrap, biscuit sandwich and bagel sandwich contains wheat, and the Yogurt Parfait carries a may contain mark. The Hash Brown is also one of the few food items with no mark in any allergen column.

ItemCalories
Sausage Scrambled Egg Loaded Box600
Bacon Scrambled Egg Loaded Box490
Scrambled Egg Loaded Box440
Bacon & Cheese Omelette Bites210
Spinach & Egg White Omelette Bites130
Sausage & Four Cheese Omelette Bites290
Hash Brown120

One more check against other lists you may have read: the July 2026 guide lists no oatmeal item at all, so any list that names Tim Hortons oatmeal as a gluten free option is not working from this guide. Full breakfast coverage is on our Breakfast page.

Soups and chili with no wheat or gluten mark

Four of the eight items in the guide’s soups and chili section carry no mark. Calories are Regular to Large.

ItemCalories
Cream of Broccoli Soup100 to 150
Tomato Parmesan Soup150 to 210
Potato Bacon Chowder220 to 310
Beef Chili310 to 430

A naming note so you can match the two official guides yourself: the allergen guide calls these Potato Bacon Chowder and Beef Chili, while the nutrition guide lists the same items as Potato Bacon Soup and Chili. The soup sets match exactly across both guides. One trap to avoid: the canned Tim Hortons chili sold in grocery stores is a different retail product with its own label. This page covers only the restaurant Beef Chili in the official guide. Soup prices and serving notes are on our Soups & Sides page.

Sauces, toppings and additions with no wheat or gluten mark

All nine sauces in the guide carry no wheat or gluten mark. The nutrition guide does not publish calories for the sauce servings, so they print Not published here, same as in our allergen tool.

The baked goods section of the guide has exactly seven no-mark rows, and all seven are bagel toppings. Read that plainly: the toppings carry no mark, but every bagel, muffin, cookie, croissant and tea biscuit itself contains wheat, so a topping on its own is a spread, not a bakery option.

Plain Cream Cheese100
Herb & Garlic Cream Cheese100
Strawberry Cream Cheese100

All eight beverage additions also carry no mark. The six syrups print small single-serve calorie figures in the nutrition guide. Whipped Topping and Espresso Cold Foam have no nutrition row, so they print Not published.

Popular items that DO carry a wheat or gluten mark

This is the section most gluten free lists skip, and it is where orders go wrong. These are items readers often assume are fine. In the official guide, every one of them carries a mark.

Three patterns are worth fixing in your mind. First, the Iced Capp: all five versions carry a may contain mark, whatever older lists say. Second, the Quenchers: the sparkling and lemonade versions carry no mark, but the frozen version of the same flavour does. Third, the soup counter: three of the seven soups contain wheat, and the Soup Bun served beside them contains wheat too, so order a no-mark soup without the bun. Beyond this table, every donut (36), every Timbit (15), every bagel, muffin, cookie and croissant, and every breakfast sandwich and wrap in the guide contains wheat. There is no gluten free baked good at Tim Hortons in the July 2026 guide.

How to check any item yourself

Recipes change and new items land between guide editions, so build the habit of checking the item, not the list.

  1. Open our Allergens page and search the item. The checker covers all 225 guide items and can hide anything that contains or may contain wheat and gluten.
  2. For calories and full nutrition, search the same item on our Nutrition Facts page.
  3. For anything the restaurant guide does not list, check the source Tim Hortons itself points to. Bottled and packaged items, such as bottled juices, are not rows in the restaurant guide, so the bottle label is the source for those. The official guides live on timhortons.ca (external, official site), and restaurant staff can also pull up item information in store.

FAQs

No. All 36 donuts in the official July 2026 allergen guide contain wheat and gluten, and so do all 15 Timbits. There is no gluten-free donut, Timbit or any other gluten free baked good on the Canadian menu in this guide. Older lists sometimes name a certified gluten-free coconut macaroon from years ago. It is not in the current guide and is not a current menu item.

Yes, seven breakfast items carry no wheat or gluten mark in the guide: the Sausage, Bacon and plain Scrambled Egg Loaded Boxes, the three Omelette Bites, and the Hash Brown at 120 calories. Every breakfast sandwich, wrap, biscuit and bagel contains wheat, and the Yogurt Parfait carries a may contain mark. Kitchens are shared, so cross-contact is still possible with any of the seven.

Four soups carry no wheat or gluten mark: Cream of Broccoli, Tomato Parmesan, Potato Bacon Chowder and Beef Chili. Chicken Noodle Soup, Garden Minestrone and Clam Chowder all contain wheat, and the Soup Bun contains wheat as well, so order one of the four without the bun.

The restaurant allergen guide does not answer this one, because bottled juices are not rows in it. The guide covers items made in the restaurant. For a bottled juice, the label on the bottle is the source to trust, so check the bottle in store or in the app before you buy.
